DJ Khaled, a well-known fan of the Miami Heat, won’t let Jimmy Butler‘s departure diminish his admiration for the six-time NBA All-Star. Khaled stated that he still holds Butler in high regard despite Butler’s sudden departure from Miami.

Khaled spoke positively of Butler during a recent NBA interview on ESPN, saying:

“First of all, shoutout to Jimmy Butler, man… Nothing but love for Jimmy Butler. God bless him in his new journey. We loved him in Miami Heat… The beautiful thing about Miami Heat is, we’re winners. We’re just a winning team, and the key word is team. Our team is always going to overcome any non-believers, and always praise the believers and bring home chips and rings and banners. That’s what we do. This is Miami.”

Butler, who played for the Heat for nearly six years, was recently traded to the Golden State Warriors in a blockbuster deal. He was a key player on Miami’s team. He led them to three Eastern Conference Finals appearances and two NBA Finals runs, cementing his legacy as one of the team’s most impactful players. While Butler begins a new chapter in Golden State, the Heat struggle to find their groove. Miami, who is currently ninth in the Eastern Conference with a 29-35 record, has lost four consecutive games and has only managed to win three out of their last ten games.

They will face James Harden and the Los Angeles Clippers in Miami on Wednesday night as their next challenge. The Heat must rebound quickly to stay in contention as the playoff race tightens. Khaled’s unwavering support for the Heat is evident, but his appreciation for Butler demonstrates that respect and admiration are timeless, even when teams change.
