Anadolu Efes have snapped up hot free agent Alex Tyus after the high-flying forward was released by Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv.

Tyus joins fellow newcomers Derrick Brown, Bryant Dunston and Jayson Granger on the roster as the Istanbul outfit are making notable noises ahead of the new season ahead, both in the Euroleague and the domestic Turkish Basketball League [TBL].

Since finishing his NCAA career with the Florida Gators in 2011, Tyus has spent the majority of his professional odyssey in Israel with Maccabi Ashdod as well as Maccabi Electra, but the 27-year-old has also sandwiched a spell with Cantu as well.

Tyus won the Euroleague with Maccabi Electra in 2014, when the Israeli champions beat Real Madrid in the title game.

During his time in Tel Aviv, Tyus averaged 7.6 points and 1.4 blocks a game, the latter of which led the Euroleague, last season.
