After missing Game 3 due to a suspension, Draymond Green asked head coach Steve Kerr to come off the bench in Game 4.

The four-time NBA champion always starts for the Warriors when healthy, but in this case he chose not to be in the starting lineup because he saw how successful the lineup was without him in Game 3.

“Didn’t surprise me because I know at his core Draymond just wants to win,” Kerr said when asked about Green’s request to come off the bench. “For all of his emotion and passion and the things that he gets into with the league or the opponent, or with the officials it’s all coming from a place of competitive desire.

“He’s one of the great competitors I’ve ever been around. He’s one of the smartest players I’ve ever been around. So, didn’t surprise me because he recognized the same thing that I do.”
