Derrick Rose appeared in just 27 regular season game for the Knicks this year and had not played since late February until Game 3 of the first round series against the Cavaliers.

The 34-year-old point guard was given 3 minutes of playing time for the Knicks in Game 3 and made 1 assist during his time on the court.

Despite not getting playing time, New York head coach Tom Thibodeau says that Rose, a former NBA MVP, is invaluable to the team.

“To have a guy like that around is invaluable,” Thibodeau said about Rose, via Michael Scotto. “Even though he’s not playing, he’s had a great impact on all our guys.. Whatever role you ask him to play, he embraces it and wants to be great at it. He’s always cared about the team the most and winning”

Rose averaged 5.6 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 12.5 minutes per game.
