Draymond Green reportedly asked for an X-ray scanning of his right ankle after feeling soreness in it, per Marc J. Spears of ESPN and Andscape. Green believes that the said painful sensation appeared when Domantas Sabonis grabbed his foot before landing him a stomp in the mid-section as a response.

Green was slapped with a Flagrant Foul 2 – an automatic ejection – on the play that occurred midway through the fourth, as Sabonis received a technical foul on the other hand. While waiting on the officials’ assessment, Green went on and taunted some of the frenzied Kings fans in the stands.

Green’s ejection ultimately left a huge void on the Warriors’ 114-102 Game 2 defeat on Monday. This marks the first time that Golden State, under the Stephen Curry era, has faced a daunting 0-2 playoff series hole.

Right at his postgame, Green, who finished with eight points, insisted that he got no choice but to land his foot elsewhere following the grapple by Sabonis. He also claimed that his leg was grabbed for the second time around this series.

Reports noted that Sabonis underwent initial X-rays to determine if there is damage in his ribs and lungs, wherein results turned negative. Nevertheless, the Kings will continue to monitor his condition and will take a few more tests on him Tuesday.

It is yet to be seen if the NBA will hand a suspension against the veteran big man due to his reckless conduct against Sabonis. The series will now shift to San Francisco for Game 3, Thursday.
