The Lakers (seven-seed) provided an upset in Game 1 of the first round of the playoffs against the Grizzlies (two-seed) as won rather comfortably 128-112.
James Worthy who won three NBA championships as a Laker shared his thoughts on the game, saying that it was teamwork that helped the Purple and Gold get the victory.
“This was a special, special, special game. A great start to the playoffs. And what we had and hope you guys can see this,” Worthy held a board with the word “TeamWork!” on it. “It’s that what it takes to win in the NBA.
“You have to be connected, you have to trust your teammates, you have to have that cohesiveness you have to believe in one another. And that’s exactly what we saw in this first game versus Memphis.”
