Arvydas Sabonis is one of the best big men to ever play the game. Even though he came to the NBA in his 30s and after a very serious Achilles injury, the Lithuanian center still left him mark on the league.

Of his three sons, Domantas was the only that pursued a professional basketball career and is now one of top big men in the NBA.

The weight of his father’s success has not made him doubt himself but rather motivate him to strive to better.

“Since I was a kid, you always hear: ‘Your dad is better than you. Your dad’s this. Your dad is that.’ You hear it all the time in every game,” Sabonis said. “But if anything, without that, I wouldn’t have been where I am. If anything, I use it as fuel to be better.”

This season Sabonis is averaging 19.2 points, 12.4 rebounds and 7.3 assists in 34.8 minutes per game for the Kings.

He was key piece in helping Sacramento return to the playoffs for the first time in 16 years.
