After taking a brief hiatus to focus on his mental health, Andre Drummond is fully upbeat to find his way back to the Chicago Bulls on Friday.

Drummond, who contributed with six points and 11 boards in 14 minutes of play, was thankful for his teammates’ support in the postgame of the Bulls’ 121-91 demolition against the Charlotte Hornets.

“Felt good to be back on the floor again,” Drummond said, per NBC Sports’ K.C. Johnson. “My guys rallied behind me, just gave me a lot of support when I came back in here. It definitely boosted my energy. I still have a lot to deal with, a lot to tackle in my own personal life. But it’s good to be back on the floor again.”

The veteran big man notably penned down a Twitter post earlier this week to note that he will deactivate his social media platforms to focus on his mental wellness. He went on to miss Chicago’s Wednesday loss against the L.A. Lakers, but this move by Drummond drew massive, positive, and uplifting support from fans who encouraged him to take a rest.

Drummond and the Bulls will continue their chase for a potential playoff spot as they take on the Memphis Grizzlies this Sunday.

If you feel struggling mentally, don’t forget to either seek professional help or open up a heart-to-heart conversation with your loved ones. You are not alone.
