Newly crowned Eurobasket Women champions Serbia have been handed a relatively comfortable draw as they aim to qualify for the next edition of the tournament in 2017.

The draw for the 2017 edition was made in Munich earlier this lunchtime.

Serbia will play Ukraine, Germany and minnows Luxembourg in the Eurobasket Women 2017 Qualifying Round, with the games being played across two windows; November 16-25 and February 15-25, 2016 as the new international format, utilised by FIBA is carried out.

The 2015 runners-up France will play Croatia in their qualifying round, with Estonia and the Netherlands providing the rest of the opposition.

Bronze medallists Spain will feel good about their chances of qualification as they face Sweden and Finland.

The ever improving Montenegro have been handed a tricky draw if they wish to advance. They are housed with Italy, Great Britain and minnows Albania.

And the draw also features a Baltic derby between Latvia and Lithuania with Slovenia also involved.

The winner in each group, plus the six best-placed runners-up, will get through to join hosts Czech Republic in two years time.
