Kevin Durant continues his recovery from the ankle injury that he suffered while warming up for the Thunder game.

Suns’ head coach Monty Williams says that the two-time NBA champion wants to play and is progressing.

“Kevin wants to play,” Williams said before Monday’s game against defending NBA champion Golden State at Chase Center. “I hate answering stuff like that because if I say anything, it becomes a thing, right? I think it speaks to how badly he wants to play. I haven’t gotten many reports outside of he’s progressing.”

Durant appeared in three games for Phoenix before the injury, averaging 26.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 32.7 minutes per game.
