Nikola Jokic, who is averaging a triple-double, remains the frontrunner to be named the MVP this year. It would be his third straight MVP award.

His teammate Bruce Brown thinks that the Serbian center should get the award. “I don’t pay too much attention to it, but he’s averaging a triple-double so if you don’t give it to him, I don’t know how the votings going to be,” he said.

Brown was also asked about the supposed stat padding that Kendrick Perkins insinuated Jokic was doing, in reference to an alley-oop that he made.

“That was the right play to make,” Brown said. “So I don’t know what Kendrick Perkins was talking about. But he makes the right play every single time.

“He said something about guys firing up shots. I think we are arguably the best three-point shooting team in the league. So what we’re supposed to do? I think we are supposed to shoot open shots when we get them.”

This season Jokic is averaging 24.6 points, 11.7 rebounds and 10 assists in 33.6 minutes per game.
