The Hawks waived their head coach Nate McMillan who coached the team since 2021. Earlier this season he got into a beef with Trae Young and there were clear tensions in the locker room.
According to former NBA coach George Karl, it was a case of an old school loss. “Unreal re Coach McMillan. Old School loses again!” Karl tweeted in response to the news that McMillan was released.
“It’s a Trae Young vs a Nikola Jokic League. Me first vs We first,” he followed up in another tweet.
