When it comes to players that kids look up to, it’s usually one of the current or former NBA superstars such as Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant.

But for Bones Hyland it is none of those. Actually, the player that he looked up to when growing up has never played in the NBA or any professional basketball at all.

“It’s a funny story,” Hyland said. “A lot of people always ask me that and they always think I’m going to say Jamal [Crawford] or Lou [Williams] or either guys that played in the league, but I always say Hot Sauce.

“I grew up watching him. He’s one of those guys that I looked up to. I used to come home everyday from school eat a cereal and put on Hot Sauce on my phone. Just tried to practice on those moves. I would go to the gym and work on his moves. So that was guy that I looked up to. It wasn’t any NBA player. It was Hot Sauce.”
