Brook Lopez is very much enticed by the idea of extending his stay with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Lopez expressed his interest to remain in Milwaukee on HoosHype’s Mike Scotto, with the big man noting that “he can’t imagine” playing with other teams.

“I love it here,” Lopez told HoopsHype. “I’m so thankful for the opportunity the Bucks gave me five years ago to come here and be a part of something special. We’ve had a great time. I can’t imagine being anywhere else.”

This 2022-23 campaign serves as a contract year for Lopez, who is set to earn a total of $13.9 million in amount. He is about to become an unrestricted free agent, but can still hit a contract extension with the Bucks franchise.

As such, Lopez can’t ask for a much better time to elevate his value for his next payday. Despite taking a risky back surgery last season, he is currently having a rejuvenating year for the Bucks, averaging 14.5 points, 6.5 boards, and an emphatic 2.6 rejections per game – making him one of the early favorites to claim the Defensive Player of the Year honors.

Though age plays a big factor in negotiating a deal, the bond, impact, leadership, and contributions to the Bucks for the last five years will still reign for Lopez’s case to be extended by the franchise. He also helped the ball club win its first NBA title in 50 years in last 2020-2021 season.

With their title window still open to win more, having Lopez for more years to come can only be a delightful opportunity for this current Bucks team.
