The Toronto Raptors are reportedly “keeping their options open” ahead of this season’s trade deadline according to TSN’s Josh Lewenberg. The Raptors aren’t making their core players available yet, but sources have noted that they seem willing to listen to offers.

“They’re keeping their options open,” a source has noted to Lewenberg

Added by Lewenberg, teams are carefully watching the Raptors’ plans as they move along. The team’s top office brass led by Masai Ujiri is yet to command the team with what would be their much clearer direction.

“[They’re] trying to figure s*** out,” said another source that is close to the current situation in Toronto.

As it stands, the Raptors are currently constructed based on a unique blueprint. They have formidable, competitive foundational pieces in the likes of Pascal Siakam and Fred VanVleet while being anchored by OG Anunoby’s incredible defensive reputation as one of the best 3-and-D wingmen. Moreover, they also have a budding star in the making in Scottie Barnes, who was crowned as last season’s Rookie of the Year.

With this form, the Raps are finding themselves in a difficult position – stuck in the middle of rebuilding and contending approaches. They are currently 11th in the Eastern Conference with a 17-23 card and have been combating their up-and-down progress since the start of the season.

As the 2022-23 campaign continues ticking to reach the midway part, Toronto certainly has to closely evaluate its progress in the next several days to determine which route it will choose for the greater good of its future.
