More than anything else, the recovery of Anthony Davis will remain integral for the Los Angeles Lakers.

As such in the pregame of their matchup against the Miami Heat, head coach Darvin Ham provided a key update about Davis, noting that the All-Star big man is “going right according to plan.”

This provision made by Ham came after ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski also gave his own update regarding Davis’s recovery progress, with the center having “encouraging” progress in hopes to be back for the Lakeshow soon.

“The progress with Anthony Davis continues to be encouraging, continues to be relatively pain-free. He’s started to do some running on the court. Now, the next step, I’m told for Anthony Davis, is jumping and see how the foot feels then. But, certainly, they’re encouraged with the progress and I think you’ll start to see Anthony Davis, do more with the team now back in L.A.”

Davis has been absent from the Lakers since Dec. 16, as he sustained an unfortunate stress injury in his foot against the Denver Nuggets. It was a gut-wrenching blow given the big man’s enjoyment of this season.

Before going down, Davis was feasting in perhaps the best season of his career, averaging 27.4 points, 12.1 boards, 2.6 assists, and shooting at a superb 59.4 percent mark per game.

While his absence is truly a massive dent to cover, LeBron James and the rest of the Lakers troop have no choice but to keep the fight with the season still on its way to the middle portion.
