The Cavaliers are still waiting for Ricky Rubio to return to action. He appeared in 34 games for Cleveland last season before tearing his ACL.

Earlier this month it was reported that the 32-year-old point guard has been cleared for playing 5-on-5 basketball. The expectation now is that Rubio will suit for the Cavs after New Year.

“I would expect him, if things go the right way, sometime early next month,” head coach J.B. Bickerstaff said, per Kelsey Russo. “So we’re definitely progressing in the right direction.”

Last season the Spaniard averaged 13.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 6.6 assists in 28.5 minutes per game.
