The Boston Celtics will keep their distinction for Joe Mazzulla as the season progresses.

Per Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe, the Celtics do not plan to remove the interim tag on Mazzulla. As such, the young mentor is knowledgeable of the fact that he will still call the shots for the entirety of the season.

“A league source said the Celtics still have no plans to remove the interim tag from his title before season’s end,” Himmelsbach said. “Mazzulla is well aware of the situation and understands that he’ll be coaching this entire year regardless.”

Mazzulla boldly took the utmost responsibility of coaching Boston upon Ime Udoka’s season-long suspension due to an improper relationship with a female team subordinate. The Cs had a roller coaster offseason fresh from their NBA Finals run.

So far, Mazzulla is doing great for the Celtics team that has been clicking across all cylinders, boasting a league-best 25-10 record as one of the feared, legitimate title contenders.
