Draymond Green has one more year left on his current four-year deal with the Warriors. The 2023-2024 season is a player option and it remains to be seen if he opts in into the final year of contract.

Unlike Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins, the four-time NBA champion was not given an extension this year and there are speculations that Green might leave the team.

According to an anonymous Western Conference executive, the chances are pretty strong that Green moves to another team next season. A factor in that is also him punching Poole in preseason.

Via Jack Simone of Heavy.com:

“Pretty strong,” a Western Conference executive said of Green’s chances to leave the Warriors. “If they win a championship again this year, there will be pressure to keep things together, but the stuff with the punch [on Jordan Poole] in the preseason, that probably put the nail in it. There was already a good chance he would go just because his production is not what it was and he is getting older [32]. It would be hard to justify paying him $20-something-million a year.”

As far what could be the landing spot for Green, the executive thinks the favorites are the Lakers due to connections with LeBron and Klutch Sports and the Piston because the Warriors forward was born and raised in Michigan.

This season Green is averaging 8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 6.8 assists in 30.7 minutes per game.
