The highly anticipated NBA Christmas Day game between the Warriors and Grizzlies ended with the former defeating the latter 123-109.

Despite missing Steph Curry and Andrew Wiggins, Golden State managed to secure a rather comfortable win against the team that they eliminated in the second round of the playoffs last season.

A rivalry between the two teams is starting to emerge and this game was a prime example of that as players on both sides were trash talking their opponents a lot.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr says that in order for a rivalry to be built the teams need to have more history between themselves, but this is one is definitely moving in that direction.

Via Kendra Andrews of ESPN:

“It’s definitely picking up steam,” Kerr said. “[But] to really develop a rivalry, there’s got to be multiple playoff series. Last year’s series was really contested and heated. We know how good they are, and we’re trying to keep it rolling. They’re trying to knock us off the mountain.”
