LeBron James, who is playing his 20th season in the NBA, recently reached a milestone by overtaking Magic Johnson on the All-Time NBA assists list.
With 10,144 career assists the Lakers superstar overtook the legend of the Purple and Gold (10,141) for the sixth place on the list. The next two former players on the list – Mark Jackson (10,334 careers assists) and Steve Nash (10,335) are within reach.
Johnson himself congratulated James for reaching another milestone and overtaking him.
“Congratulations to one of the best ever to lace them up, LeBron James, for passing me to become 6th all-time on the NBA’s career assists list!! The affect you’ve had on basketball will last for generations to come!” the five-time NBA champion tweeted.
This season LeBron is averaging 25.9 points, 8.6 rebounds and 6.6 assists in 35.5 minutes per game.
