Former NBA superstar big man Dwight Howard’s annual salary in Taoyuan Leopards of Taiwan’s T1 League reportedly exceeds $1 million, per George Liao of Taiwan News.

According to Liao, there were speculations that Howard will indeed breach the $1MM yearly earning mark for joining the Leopards, which will go through the league’s conditioned salary for foreign players.

But T1 reiterates that there are no guidelines for salaries that do not conform to the league’s salary rules. The provision states that the club shall report first the salary package they intend to pay for inking new players.

As such, T1 has confirmed that Taoyuan proposed their salary package on Howard last Monday. The league also believes that the participation of the future basketball hall of famer can attract attention from the fans.

Howard officially announced on Monday via Instagram that he’ll take a landing in Taiwan to bring his act for the Leopards. As told by Liao, his signing is already gaining interest, as the ticket sales of his games for the club have increased.

The veteran center had a decorated time playing in the NBA and is now currently at the twilight stage of his illustrious career. He is a multiple All-NBA Team member and an All-Star, who finally won an NBA title with the Los Angeles Lakers back in the 2019-20 season.
