Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is on track to finally play for the team’s season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday, as announced by head coach Mark Daigneault (via Joe Mussatto of The Oklahoman).

Gilgeous-Alexander notably missed the OKC’s entire preseason games as he nursed his Grade 2 MCL sprain in his left knee. As such, it appears that his recovery is going well as planned.

The Canadian guard has been swarmed by plenty of injury issues in his past two seasons for Thunder. Despite that, he still solidified himself as the primary core of their special program, averaging 24.5 points, 5.9 assists, 5 boards and 1.3 steals last year.
