The Raptors have been mentioned as one of potential destinations for Kevin Durant after he made the trade request. Reportedly, the Nets want Scottie Barnes to be included in the package and Toronto is reluctant to let the reigning Rookie of the Year go.
One anonymous NBA executive has a different opinion. He would trade the 21-year-old small forward for Durant. However, he would not trade Barnes for Donovan Mitchell – another star that has been included in trade rumors.
“An executive who I respect said he would give up Scottie Barnes for Kevin Durant — not for Donovan Mitchell, but for KD,” Tim MacMahon said on Brian Windhorst & The Hoop Collective podcast.
This past season Barnes averaged 15.3 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 35.4 minutes per game for the Raptors.
