The rematch dates of the 2022 NBA Finals this upcoming season can now be circled by both the Boston and Bay Area fans.

Shams Charania of The Athletic announced that the first matchup of Celtics and Warriors will take place on Dec. 10 in San Francisco, with Jan. 19 alloted inside the TD Garden for the second bout.

The Celtics and the Warriors finally met in the Finals stage last season, and they gave basketball fans a remarkable six-game duel.

After the Cs went up 2-1 in the series, the Warriors blazed off to win the next three games to clinch their fourth Larry O’Brien trophy in eight years. For the first time in his career, Stephen Curry was named as the Finals MVP after averaging a series-best 31.2 points, 6.0 boards, 5.0 assists, 2.0 steals in 40/43/85 shooting splits per 37.5 minutes of play.

On their first upcoming meeting since mid-June, both clubs will feature some different faces particularly on their supporting cast. Boston filled their ball handling hole after gaining Malcolm Brogdon from the Indiana Pacers, while adding depth on their frontcourt with Danilo Gallinari.

Despite the significant departure of both Gary Payton II and Otto Porter Jr., the Dubs signed decent replacements in Donte DiVincenzo and JaMychal Green.

Regardless of the recent moves made, these two finalists will enter the new season as arguably the top two favorites to win the title, as their core remains intact and hungry for more success.
