Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the best players in the world, some consider him to be the best. However, the two-time NBA MVP does not see himself that way.

Currently the 27-year-old forward is with the Greece national team that is preparing for the coming EuroBasket 2022. As always, Greece has high goals in international competitions, but Giannis says that the team is not ready to compete for medals.

Antetokounmpo also rejects the notion that he is the best player in the world by saying that he is not the type of player that the whole team has to adjust to. Instead, he is prepared to do whatever it takes help the team win.

Via Tosin Abayomi of Pulse Sports:

“You can’t adjust 11 people around me. I am not that type of guy. I have to adjust to everybody, I will do whatever my team needs, I will screen, I will play at 5 if I have to. Right now our team is not ready to get a medal. But we have a chance. When the season started in Milwaukee, our goal wasn’t the championship. But we worked hard and we won. I am not the best player in the world. Don’t tell me that I am.”

This past season the Greek Freak averaged 29.9 points, 11.6 rebounds and 5.8 assists in 32.9 minutes per game for the Bucks. He could have his three brothers on Greece national team in EuroBasket 2022.
