The 2017 and 2018 NBA championships that the Warriors won are often to a large degree credited to Kevin Durant. This year Golden State managed to claim the title without him.

Some people took to Twitter to diss KD, saying his legacy is dead. “Kevin Durant’s legacy just died He’s now just the guy between Harrison Barnes and Andrew Wiggins The guy who left the Beatles,” a Twitter user feltbot tweeted.

Durant replied by saying that his legacy has been dead since July 4th, 2016 – the date when he announced an intention to leave the Thunder and join the Warriors.

“I been dead since July 4th 2016, but congrats to the dubs and my boy Steezy, a Fillmore legend, man been waitin his whole life for a parade on market st.,” the two-time NBA champion tweeted.
