The Minnesota Timberwolves are set to acquire Dell Demps for a front office role (h/t Shams Charania of The Athletic).

Demps, 52, was a former professional cager in the 90s who played in the NBA for three different clubs. After hanging his shoes in 2000, he joined the San Antonio Spurs’ front office.

He then shifted to the New Orleans Pelicans in 2010 and served as their general manager for nine years.

Demps has close ties with the recently named Minnesota lead executive Tim Connelly. He hired him in his first year in NOLA as his assistant general manager.

With the departure of Quin Snyder in the Utah Jazz, Demps will technically pack his bag up to leave his assistant coaching gig that he held for the past two years in the said team.
