Former North Carolina basketball star Ademola Okulaja died at the age of 46 this week, according to The News & Observer.
Okulaja, who was born in Nigeria and grew up in Germany, had been dealing with cancer on and off since 2008. His cause of death has not been reported.
Okulaja tried to join the NBA three separate times and had training-camp experiences with the Philadelphia 76ers, San Antonio Spurs, and Utah Jazz.
