After a short stint in China, former NBA champion Metta World Peace is rumoured to have accepted an offer from Italian side Cantu.

The rumours heightened when the 35-year-old tweeted a cryptic message, possibly signalling that he interested in Cantu.

Then his brother tweeted to basketball rumours website Sportando, indicating that World Peace had agreed a deal to replace Damian Hollis, who will leave the club within the week.

Either way, it will be another highly anticipated move, if it comes through. There was huge publicity surrounding World Peace’s move to Chinese Basketball Association side Sichuan Blue Whales, the veteran was replaced by Daniel Orton, 19 games into the season after a persistent knee injury.

World Peace averaged 19 points before his release from the Blue Whales in December.
