After he Lakers’ latest loss against the Raptors sports analyst Shannon Sharpe is convinced that Los Angeles will not make the playoffs this year. He pointed at the whole bunch of problems that the purple and gold area having with their offense and defense.

“I think they’re going to miss the playoffs. There’s no reason for optimism,” Sharpe said on UNDISPUTED. “Now I just turn into the game to see how many points LeBron’s going to score. They don’t play any defense, they turn the ball over guys are getting shootaround threes, I’m talking about wide open, guys going off the dribble.

“And I get that small lineup but they got crushed on the glass, they got beat by 21. When you play a small lineup, you can’t worry about leaking out, you can’t worry about getting fast break points.

“You got to have everybody come in to try to get on the glass. They got outrebounded 64-43,” Sharpe continued by breaking down the Lakers’ schedule and how they are favored to win only one game against the Timberwolves.

With 14 regular season left to play the Lakers are ninth in the Western Conference. They are 2.5 games above the elimination and will play seven of their next eight games on the road.
