Ukrainian side, Prometey has decided to withdraw the FIBA Basketball Champions League, its club president has announced.

The news was first reported by Ukrainian reporter, Oleksandr Proshuta.

All Prometey sports departments (two basketball clubs, plus youth and women’s volleyball departments) are to be disbanded following the Russian invasion of neighbors Ukraine.

In their maiden Basketball Champions League campaign, Prometey reached the Round of 16.

Prior to their decision, the Ukrainian side was placed second in Group K, holding a 2-1 record with an upset over Spanish powerhouse Unicaja Malaga plus a victory over Oostende on the road in early February.
