Several NBA teams, among them the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Boston Celtics, have expressed their interest in trading for Jerami Grant from the Detroit Pistons.

With the trade deadline approaching, one team appears to be the favorite to land the 27-year-old forward. According to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, several league personnel view the Washington Wizards as the favorite to acquire Grant.

There several factors that could play a role in drawing the Pistons leader to Washington. First, his father Harvey played for the franchise in the past. Second, Jerami was born in DC area, and third, he was coached by the current Wizards head coach Wes Unseld Jr. while playing for the Nuggets.

This season Grant is averaging 20.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. His numbers grew significantly since he joined the Pistons in 2020.
