NBA analyst and former sharpshooter JJ Redick believes Kyrie Irving’s return to the Brooklyn Nets will have a bigger impact than Klay Thompson’s one on the Warriors’ lineup.
Redick explained his thoughts on the two superstars as Kyrie made his season debut with the Nets against the Pacers last Wednesday.
At the same time, Klay Thompson is hours away from his return to the court after missing two consecutive years because of injuries.
On the latest episode of “The Old Man & The Three With JJ Redick and Tommy Alter,” several topics were discussed, including who will be more impactful in helping their team win a championship.

“…I really do believe this, in the short term I think Kyrie coming back will have a bigger impact on the Nets because of the playmaking load and burden that Durant and Harden have had the whole season, and because of how imbalanced their roster is, they are so top-heavy,” said the former Clippers and Sixers sharpshooter.
Thompson is expected to make his return against the Cleveland Cavaliers Sunday at Chase Center before the “Dubs” embark on a four-game road trip.
Irving had a good debut in Indiana, scoring 22 points in a Nets’ comeback victory. The Nets will take on the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday night in a home encounter before heading back on the road for two games.
Fans expect to see Kyrie again in those two road games against the Portland Trail Blazers and the Chicago Bulls. He will only be featured in road contests except for California, Toronto, and against the New York Knicks.
Both Nets and Warriors are among the top teams in the East and West, respectively, even without the two superstars. The Nets are at 24-13, which ranked as the second-best record in the Conference. The Warriors are second in the West with a 29-9 record, only a game behind the league-leading Phoenix Suns.
