The Golden State Warriors are excited about the season debut of Klay Thompson, which will take place on Sunday night at Chase Center.

Thompson will be in the lineup for the first time after 941 days, as the Warriors host the Cleveland Cavaliers. The last time the All-Star guard appeared in a game was in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals.

“I have no doubt that when Klay walks onto the floor for the first time, I will never forget that particular game,” Golden State head coach Steve Kerr said, via Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.

“Klay Day!!! Loading… I’m excited as hell!” Draymond Green tweeted. “My brother returning to the court has me going down memory lane,” Stephen Curry tweeted.

Klay Thompson returns and has his sights set on leading Golden State to another NBA championship. The Warriors currently have the second-best record in the league, at 29-9.
