Memphis Grizzlies went a surprising 10-2 without superstar guard Ja Morant, who was sidelined with a sprained left knee last month.

He returned against OKC on Monday, but the Grizzlies could not get past the Thunder, a team that they won by 73 without Morant.

Some fans even expressed their frustration on Morant, who put up 16 points, eight assists and six rebounds in just under 30 minutes of action on Monday.

Desmond Bane, who had an amazing run during Morant’s absence went on to say the idea that the Grizzlies might be better without Ja is “nonsense” and that Ja gets picked on because he’s a star.

“We know what kind of player Ja is, and I think everyone knows what kind of player he is. An All-Star. He hasn’t played in a month. Throw anyone out there without being out there for a month, and they won’t be themselves. And he played solid!”

“He will be in Memphis as long as he wants to be,” Bane continued. “It’s his franchise.”

Grizzlies underperformed in some games with Morant this season, but, that does not mean they are a better team without a player that he could be an All-Star this year.
