Nikola Vucevic faced his former team Friday as the Bulls blew past Orlando with a 123-88 win. The trip to Orlando was a homecoming for the veteran big man, who spent nine years with the Magic.

He was traded in the past trade deadline for a package that included a big man swap for Wendell Carter Jr. After the game, Vucevic had nothing but praise for Carter, who posted a team-high 26 points and 10 rebounds.

He was the only bright spot for the rebuilding Magic, who have achieved just four wins in the season so far. Carter Jr. is in his first full season with the Magic after his three in Chicago.

He’s had modest career-high jumps of 12.3 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists, shooting 40 percent on 3.8 attempts per game from beyond the arc.

Vucevic has only returned from a multi-game absence due to COVID-19 protocols. He put up 16 points and eight rebounds in 29 minutes of play.

The Bulls bounced back from a two-game losing streak to improve to 13-7, which is ranked as the second-best record in the Eastern Conference.
