The severity of Markieff Morris’ neck injury may seem to be worse after all.

As per Heat insider Wes Goldberg, the veteran is set to miss his sixth straight game with the Miami Heat, and won’t be able to travel with the team on its four-game road trip against the Washington Wizards, Detroit Pistons, Minnesota Timberwolves and Chicago Bulls.

Morris suffered the said injury in Miami’s visit against the Denver Nuggets on Nov. 8, wherein he had an infamous body check exchange with superstar Nikola Jokic.

“I felt bad; I am not supposed to react that way but I need to protect myself.”

The league landed a fine on Morris for its own unnecessary doing with $50,000, while star swingman Jimmy Butler received a punishment worth $30,000 after jawing the Nuggets bench in the incident and attempting to escalate the altercation. Jokic was then suspended for one game because of the forceful tackle response against the forward.

Markieff is currently averaging 7.7 markers, 2.8 boards and 45.7 field goal percentage in 18.7 of game exposure this season. The Heat are currently sitting at the uppermost spot in the East, along with the Brooklyn Nets (11-5).
