Portland Trail Blazers will have to face the Denver Nuggets without Damian Lillard. The veteran superstar was ruled out for Sunday’s game due to lower abdominal pain.

He had been dealing with an abdominal problem while playing for Team USA at the Olympics this summer. Sunday will mark the first game he has missed this year.

Lillard is averaging 20.0 points and 8.0 assists this season; however, he’s struggling during the start the season, shooting below 40% from the field and below 30% from deep.

With Lillard out, Anfernee Simmons, who is having a great season coming off the bench so far, will likely start, as Portland is looking to bounce back from the Wednesday’s loss to the Phoenix Suns.
