FC Barcelona and Zenit Saint Petersburg maintained their undefeated streak and remained on top of the EuroLeague standings after Round 2.

The Catalans rallied past Bayern Munich at Audi Dome (72-80) and climbed to 2-0 in the competition. FC Barcelona took a double-digit lead in the contest (33-44, 47-63) and never looked back. The Bavarians attempted a late comeback, but came up short and remained winless (0-2).

Zenit claimed its second straight road win in the EuroLeague and is still on top (2-0). The Russians defeated Zalgiris Kaunas at Zalgirio Arena (64-70).

The visitors took control in the first half and led by as many as 12 points (25-37). For their part, the Lithuanians attempted a late comeback, but Zenit stood tall and sealed the deal. The hosts are still without a victory in the EuroLeague (0-2).

Crvena Zvezda stunned Maccabi Tel-Aviv on the road and secured its first win in the season. The Serbians were unstoppable from start to finish and cruised to an easy victory (63-75).

The visitors led by double digits early in the game (13-28) and retained it throughout the contest (37-54, 46-67). On the other hand, the Israelis couldn’t turn things around and suffered their first EuroLeague loss. Both teams now have identical records (1-1).

In Athens, Panathinaikos made a wild comeback and survived a late thriller against Fenerbahce (91-87). The “Greens” trailed by five with 40 seconds to go (82-87). However, two unsportsmanlike fouls and a 9-0 run helped them seal the deal in the final seconds.

On the contrary, Fenerbahce had the chance to make it two wins in a row, but came up short in a late thriller. Both teams now have identical records (1-1).

EuroLeague Round 2 will come to an end on Friday with five more games.
