The 2021-2022 NBA season is just around the corner as Ben Simmons saga continues. A recent reports shines more light on what is the reason behind the 24-year-old point guard’s decision to request a trade.
It appears that the reason why he wants to leave the Philadelphia 76ers is the team’s choice to build around Joel Embiid. Simmons is reportedly ‘done’ playing with the center.
“As he sees it, sources say, the organization’s choice to build its basketball ecosystem around Embiid’s style simply isn’t conducive to the way he needs to play,” Sam Amick said, per NBA Central.
This past season Simmons averaged 14.3 points, 7.2 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game for the Sixers.
