Minnesota Timberwolves decided to unexpectedly move on from Gersson Rosas, and even Karl-Anthony Towns seemed to be shocked by the franchise’s move.

Just days before NBA training camps open, the Timberwolves fired him. That caught KAT and the rest of the players off-guard.

Rosas was the president of basketball operations in the Twin Cities since 2019. He orchestrated several trades for the T-Wolves, including D’Angelo Russell, who is a close friend to the franchise’s superstar Karl-Anthony Towns.

The team announced executive vice president of basketball operations Sachin Gupta will lead the basketball ops department for now.

The Timberwolves are lacking stability during the last 16 seasons, as they made the playoff one time since 2004 when Kevin Garnett led the team to the Western Conference Finals.
