Los Angeles Lakers are expected to sign DeAndre Jordan, who is likely going to replace Marc Gasol as the backup center of the team.

The Spaniard joined the 2020 NBA champions last season but had an underwhelming campaign, averaging 5.0 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per contest.

Gasol was moved at the end of the bench mid-season, as the Lakers signed Andre Drummond as an insurance policy for the center position. The veteran returned actively to the team’s rotation during the playoffs.

According to Brett Siegel of the NBA Analysis Network, the latest rumors suggest the Lakers will likely start the season without Gasol in their roster.

The veteran expressed his willingness to stay in LA and help the Lakers win the championship in the final year of his contract.
