Rajon Rondo is the type of player that Anthony Davis needs to reveal his greatness, according to a former NBA executive. It was reported recently that AD felt some frustration last season when Dennis Schroder was playmaking for the Los Angeles Lakers.
The return of Rondo should help Davis feel more comfortable and get the best out of himself. “AD is special, but he needs a guard like Rondo to be great,” the former executive said, per Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report. “But paring LeBron and AD, all bets are off.”
This past season, the 28-year-old forward had his third lowest scoring season in his NBA career so far. Davis averaged 21.8 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game which was a noticeable drop compared to the year before when he averaged 26.1 points, 9.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game.
