Number one pick of the 2021 NBA Draft, Cade Cunningham, made his debut with the Detroit Pistons in the Summer League. The 19-year-old point guard had 12 points, six rebounds and two assists in 26 minutes as the Pistons were defeated by the Thunder, 72-76.

After the game, the former Oklahoma State Cowboy talked about putting on the Pistons jersey for the first time. “It was fun to put the jersey on for the first time. We wanted a win out of it…we have a lot from this game to learn from,” Cunningham said, per Rod Beard.

“I know the perspective of my team would be with me coming in as the No. 1 pick. I don’t want to come in being about me and taking up that space. I want to build on their games.”

Detroit will face Houston in their next game on Tuesday. After that, Cunningham and Co. will face the Knicks and the Lakers.
