Ziaire Williams will have a unique experience as he will face LeBron James in the NBA after being teammates with his son Bronny. The 19-year-old small forward was selected as the number 10 draft pick by the New Orleans Pelicans in this year’s NBA Draft but was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies.

The rookie talked about his relationship with LeBron and Dwyane Wade before entering the league as well as what it will be like to play against James on the big stage.

“Playing with Bronny and Z-Wade [Zaire Wade] those are like my brothers I really don’t even look at them as like these kind of stars or icons,” Williams said. “Even uncle Bron and D-Wade, I talk to them all the time especially Dwyane. He really just reached out to me last night, just congratulating. They’ve been super supportive. When I first met them I was like starstruck. The moment you meet them you forget who they are because they are so down to Earth, so humble and so just laid back.”

He was then asked about facing LeBron this coming season. “Oh man, that’s going to be a crazy night for real. That’s crazy. It really just hit me right now, I’m really going to play LeBron. That’s crazy. That’s going to be a fun experience, man. I’m just trying to soak all this in. I know I’m less than 1% of the world of people who want to do this, so I’m really just blessed an honored. I’m going to take full advantage of the opportunity.”

James saw the video of the Grizzlies rookie talking about him and responded himself on Twitter. “Congrats nephew!!!! Proud of you kid @therealZiaire! Enjoy the process and everything that comes with it!” the four-time NBA champion tweeted.
