The Los Angeles Lakers formed a super team by adding Russell Westbrook via a trade with the Washington Wizards. The 17-time NBA champions now have the Big-3 of LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Westbrook, who is looking for his first championship.
The former NBA MVP will suit for the fourth different team over the period of four years having previously played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets and Washington Wizards. According to sports journalist Jason Whitlock, the addition of Russ will only hurt Lakers’ chances of winning a title next season.
“Westbrook is not one of the NBA’s Top 50 players of all time. He’s a nice little interesting gimmick,” he said on Fearless with Jason Whitlock. “He’ll be desperate to disprove that narrative all next season it’s going to make it impossible to control his emotions. He’s backed into a corner. There will be an initial honey moon period, then he’ll revert to his old habits in a critical moment and cost the Lakers a chance to win it all. The Lakers will be a great ball of fire.”
