In a blockbuster trade on Thursday, the Los Angeles Lakers have landed a 9× NBA All-Star guard Russell Westbrook from the Washington Wizards.

Minutes after the news went viral, the former Los Angeles Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson took to Twitter to share his excitement of the newest Lakers addition:

In his first and only season in Washington, Westbrook, 32, averaged 22.2 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 11.7 assists, although he shot just 43.9% from the floor and 31.5% from deep.
