According to Broderick Turner of Los Angeles Lakers, DeMar DeRozan, who spent three seasons playing for the San Antonio Spurs, would be willing to take a pay cut in order to join the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason:
“DeRozan, who starred at Compton High and USC, has interest in returning home to play for the Lakers, even if it is for less than the $27.7 million he earned last season in San Antonio, according to people not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.”
Following the news, the 31-year-old took to Twitter to react to the rumors with the cryptic tweet:
This past season, DeRozan averaged 21.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 6.9 assists per game. He became an unrestricted free agent this summer. For the past five seasons, the forward was making around $27 million per year.
