While recently appearing on Stephen A’s World with ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, actor and musician Ice Cube made his pitch to point guard Damian Lillard to join the Los Angeles Lakers:
“If you want a championship, you should come join the Lakers,” said Jackson after Smith asked him what advice he would give to Lillard. “If you want to just score a lot of points and be the man, stay in Portland. But come win a championship. You deserve it. He’s given a lot to that city. So give some of that love to the L.A. Lakers.”
Lillard has played nine seasons for the Portland Trail Blazers. He has averaged 24.7 points, 6.6 assists, and 4.2 rebounds in 682 regular-season games. He was selected to play in five All-Star games and has won the Rookie of the Year award.
